The smART V1 System

The smART V1 System incorporates the smART V1 feeding pump, smART V1 feeding tube and accessory sets and bags.

The smART V1 feeding pump with smART V1 feeding sets are intended to deliver nutritional formula to the gastrointestinal system of an adult patient who is physically unable to eat and swallow. The smART V1 feeding pump and feeding sets are intended to be used in a clinical setting by professional users.

The smART V1 System is designed to aid qualified operators in the placement of the smART V1 feeding tube into the stomach of patients requiring enteral feeding. The smART V1 tube is equipped with sensors designed to provide information about the location of the tube tip relative to the lower esophageal sphincter (LES) thus assisting in reducing the incidence of misplacement during first positioning as well as monitoring the position continuously during the course of the feeding and automatically and in real time alerts of tube migration.

The smART V1 System is equipped with a motorized mechanism which automatically and in real-time stops feeding and alerts the clinical staff if the feeding tube moves out of position or if reflux is detected by the impedance sensors during ongoing use.
