Our Leadership

Liron Elia Founder & CEO
In 2009, Liron Elia founded ART MEDICAL with one goal: preventing pneumonia in ICU patients. Since then, its mission has expanded to redefine nutrition in Critical Care. With a strong background in Computing and R&D, Liron is an innovator for whom no problem is unsolvable. As CEO, he drives ART MEDICAL's vision with his thought-leadership and tireless innovation mindset.
Dr. Gavriel J. (Gabi) Iddan Chief Technology Officer
As CTO at ART MEDICAL, Gabi is responsible for leading technological development by challenging the technological status quo and bringing new innovative paradigms to the R&D team. Prior to that, Gabi co-founded Given Imaging (now Medtronic) and invented their video capsule technology. He has over 30 years of experience in R&D from working with Rafael DC, IBM, Kodak and Elscint. A recognized industry authority, Gabi is also the co-inventor and founder of 3DV Ltd. (now Microsoft), Medingo (now Roche), and Sync-Rx (now Philips).
Prof. Eitan Scapa, MD Chief Medical Officer
In his role as Chief Medical Officer, Prof. Scapa oversees medical aspects and clinical studies. Prof. Scapa served as the Head of the Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition Department at Yitzhak Shamir Medical Center, Israel. Together with Gabi Iddan, he conceived the idea of Given Imaging's Video Capsule and accompanied it through every stages of its development. He was the President of the Israel Association of Gastroenterology and Hepatology 2004-2008.
Ori Braun SVP, Business Development
Ori Braun is an experienced executive with a track record in Business Development and is responsible for creating new opportunities at ART MEDICAL. Previously Ori was responsible for Business Development & New Technologies at Given Imaging (now Medtronic). Prior to that he functioned as CEO for 3DV Systems Inc. (acquired by Microsoft), a company dedicated to providing 3D video solutions. He also held key positions at various prominent companies in the industry, among them: LifeWatch, Valor and Rafael DC.
Nirit Barnea VP Human Resources
Nirit is a seasoned HR professional with more than 20 years of experience working in public and global organizations. Before joining ART MEDICAL, Nirit served five years as VP of Human Resources at Gilat Satellite Networks. Nirit holds an M.A. in Sociology from Tel Aviv University and a B.A. in Economics and Business Administration from Haifa University.
Nati Shaul VP Operations
Nati has more than 19 years of proven experience in managing manufacturing processes and large teams of over 100 people in the medical devices sector. His prior experience as a manufacturing manager in leading companies such as Given Imaging and Medtronics included regulatory compliance and the development and execution of operational excellence tools to enhance efficiency and financial performance.
Shirly Steinlauf VP RA, QA and CA
Shirly has been working in ART MEDICAL since 2012, building and overseeing the comprehensive quality, regulation, and clinical affairs systems and teams. Shirly holds a B.Sc. in Medical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Tel Aviv University. Prior to joining ART MEDICAL, she served as a researcher in the field of heart flow hemodynamics at the university and provided lab services on V&V to external companies.
Assaf Guterman VP R&D
Assaf is a seasoned R&D manager, specializing in leading both MedTech and Hi-Tech multidisciplinary projects, with over 20 years of extensive experience in bringing innovative technologies from concept stage up to commercial products.

Prof. Pierre Singer, MD

Prof. Singer is currently Director of the General Intensive Care Department, Rabin Medical Center, Beilinson Campus, Petach Tikva, Israel, Full Professor of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at the Sackler School of Medicine, Tel Aviv University, Head of the Institute of Nutrition Research at Rabin Medical Center, Chair of the Eduarda and Dr. Moshe Ishay Institute for the Study of the Effects of Natural Food on the Quality of Life and Human Health at the Tel Aviv University, and director of the Metabolism Laboratory at the Felsenstein Medical Research Center.

Dr. Singer was President (2003), Treasurer (2004-2008) and Chairman of the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN) (2010-2014) and the co-chairman of the ESPEN Guidelines editorial board (2014-2018). He is an honorary member of  ESPEN.

Zvi Grunwald, MD, FASA

Dr. Grunwald serves as the Executive Director of the Jefferson Israel Center, Thomas Jefferson University (TJU) and Jefferson Health. He has over 38 years of experience in the medical field and served as the chair of the department of anesthesiology for 16 years. 

Recently he launched two successful pilot programs with the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) for Israeli startup companies to test their products at Jefferson. He led the anesthesia for the first liver transplantations at the Hospital of The University of Pennsylvania, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Hadassah Medical Center, Jerusalem and the Rabin Medical Center, Petah Tikva. Prof. Grunwald is the leading world authority in the perioperative management of patients with Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva.
